Y5/6 'The Big Bang' Science Fair
Year 4 French language workshop at Imberhorne Lower
Thursday 19th January Y3/4 celebrated thier topic by having an Egyptian Day. They had great fun learning about all things Egyptian!
On Tuesday 6th December 15 year 5 pupils travelled to Imberhorne Secondary school to take part in a basketball festival. Imberhorne's year 10 sports leaders do a great job coaching skills and supporting friendly games.
Our CREW organised and refereed a tag rugby tournament for our yr 3/4 pupils. The pupils had received coaching from teachers and East Grinstead Rugby Club so the standard of play was very high!
After making wonderful houses for homework Y1/2 recreated the Great Fire of London watching them burn to the ground after the fire in the bakery spread all along the street!!
As Seen On TV!!! Mason and Lucas led the Y5/6 children to the war memorial to lay the amazing wreath they had made out of poppy poems written by the children. All the children were very respectful as they observed the silence.
On Monday a team representing the school went to the Triangle to take part in The Inclusion Sports Festival. We played 12 matches of New Age Curling and Boccia. All matches proved to be incredibly close and it was a great achievement to win 4 of those matches as some teams were from secondary schools! Well done to Ewan, Sonny, Chloe and Charlie

Worth Abbey leavers service was a lovely send off for our Y6 children.

BRAZIL DAY. Salsa Dancing, Mask Making and other Brazilian activities made a fun-filled day across the whole school.
In May, our 1st ever girls only football team competed against local schools in a one-day tournament. Our team comprised of 4 girls who have already played for the school in the league so we were hoping to do well! The girls certainly didn't let us down placing third overall. Here the girls are showing off their well deserved medals!
Congratulations to our A-team footballers who finished in joint 3rd position after drawing 2-2 in the finals earlier this term. They achieved second place in the Imberhorne league, and played Escots (losing 2-0) and Copthorne (2-2) in the play-offs. Their teamwork and dedication to training has set an excellent example and we are very proud of their success!
20 keen year 3 and 4 pupils took part in the Activate netball festival in March this year. They received coaching from Sackville Secondary School's Sports Leaders and went on to play some matches to put their new skills into practice. They had a great time!
Congratulations to this years B-team who have proved themselves to be a force to look out for in next years league! After playing 6 matches they came 4th in the league scoring 11 goals and winning 2 of their matches (with 1 draw and 3 close losses). They improved dramatically as the league progressed and knitted tightly as a team, supporting each other through the ups and downs - well done and good luck in the A-team next year!
Christmas Carol Service December 2015
Our first Christmas Carol Service on the school field was well attended, with children and parents singing carols and traditional Christmas songs by the Christmas tree.
Shoe box appeal October 2015
Thank you to everybody who made a donation towards the shoebox appeal this year. The boxes and donations will be packed up at Messy Church on Sunday 18th October and then forwarded to the collection centre. We will let you know the final number of boxes after Messy Church
Unveiling the new Village War Memorial June 6th 2015
On 6th June 2015 the new Village War Memorial was unveiled. One of our pupils was chosen to read the poem he had written to remember the people who gave their lives for their country during the two world wars.

On 2nd June 2015 all the children and staff in KS1 and KS2 took part in India Day. We tried Indian Food, experimented with Indian Art, participated in Indian Dancing and Drumming Workshops and listen to Indian stories. Everyone had a great day!
